Crockery




  • Dining sets - Used for serving or consume a meal at the dining room table, regardless of the time of day the meal is served, including dinner, lunch or breakfast.


  • Bowl
  1. cream soup bowl - it usually is accompanied with a matching saucer that hold the soup spoon when it is not being used.
  2. bouillon soup bowls - used with matching sauces to prevent spills. they are used for serving light, broth-type soups
  3.  grapefruit bowls - prevent a halved grapefruit from sliding around in the bowl
  4. finger bowl - offered to guests for cleaning their fingers after a meal
  • cups and sauces - cup is to contain a hot drink, the sauce used to be to cool some of the drink and drink out of. now the saucer is used to contain drips, hold the wet teaspoon, and protect the table surface from the cup.
  • egg cups - used for serving boiled eggs with their shells. concave portion to hold the eggs
  • mugs - used for drinking hot beverages such as coffee, tea or hot chocolate. mugs have handles and hold a large amount of fluid than other types of cups. 
  • plates - it i used as a marker or guide for the silverware and other components of the place setting and functions as  service plate when the food is serviced. 
  • teapots - used for steeping tea leaves or an herbal mix in boiling or near boiling water, and for serving the resulting infusion which is called tea
  • butter dishes - specialized dish in which butter is served
  • salt / pepper shakers - condiment holders used in western culture that are designed to allow dinners to distribute grains of edible salt and ground peppercorns.
  • gravy boats -  sauce or grows is served. often gifts on a matching plate, sometimes attached to the pitcher, to catch dripping sauce 
  • serving dishes - used for serving food.
